Asha's Research: Sunday January 2nd

Asha-Maria spent some time searching the University of Ottawa site for scholarly articles about Dr. Seuss and opinions on his writing style. This was a tedious search, because Asha did not know how to use the website properly. A couple of frustrated words escaped from her mouth and, at one point, she began banging her fist on the desk. It was very difficult for Asha to find information on websites, as all of the sources were from books. She eventually found two good sources, but even so she is not sure if they pertain well to the topic, or give useful information. The two websites she found need a password to access, so she shall not post them. But one of the sources is Playing for an Audience: A critical look at Dr. Seuss by Gary D. Schmidt. Afterwards, Asha decided to find more information on Canada’s role in the Cuban Missile Crisis, and the state of US-Cuba relations during the crisis, before the crisis and after the crisis, to have a more in depth look as to why the crisis took place, and to understand the actions of both parties.

The websites she found are:
US and Cuba relations

Canada’s role during the Cuban Missile Crisis

Hopefully these sites prove to be of use to the group.
